The group is opening one or more postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics, funded through an Odysseus grant by the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO).

 

The proposed research projects broadly concern novel theoretical and computational approaches to non-equilibrium quantum many-body dynamics: thermalization, hydrodynamics and non-thermal states of matter; tensor-network influence functionals for non-Markovian open quantum systems and quantum impurity models; "interactive" quantum dynamics and phases of matter; quantum simulation.

 

Motivated candidates are encouraged to get in touch by email, attaching their CV and a description of their research interests and expertise (normally around 2 pages), and to arrange for at least two confidential reference letters by senior colleagues, to be sent to the same email address. Applications received by 20th December 2025 will be given priority. 

 

The starting date is flexible. The standard duration of the contract is 3 years. Employment conditions and salary scales are internationally competitive, and can be found at this link. Leuven is a charming university city with a vibrant student life, located in the Flanders region just outside Brussels, at the heart of the EU, with London, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, all within 2h train rides.
