Group
NEWS:
Thanks to a generous Odysseus grant by the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO), the group is expanding in the near future. Check the "Opportunities" tab for up-to-date announcements!

Jiangjing Dong
PhD student, KU Leuven, 2025-2029
Jiangjing joined the group after obtaining a Master degree in Physics at ETH Zurich and a multidisciplinary Diplom d'Ingenieur at Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau, where she was awarded a Fulgence Bienvenüe scholarship. She has a solid background in quantum many-body physics, statistical mechanics, and gauge theories.

Dani Asafov
PhD student, KU Leuven, 2025-2029
Dani joined the group after a M.Sc. degree from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, and a research internship at the ISTA (Vienna). Before, they graduated with a thesis at the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics in Moscow. Dani has wide interests and expertise in theoretical physics, particularly in field-theoretical approaches to emergent phenomena in quantum matter.

Fabrizio Salas Ramírez
PhD student, KU Leuven, 2024-2029
Fabrizio joined the group after a Master in Quantum Engineering from Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, and research internships at the University of Strasbourg and ETH Zurich. Before, he was an undergraduate student at the Universidad de Costa Rica. Fabrizio is interested in quantum many-body dynamics and advanced computational techniques.
NEWS: Fabrizio was recently awarded a competitive FWO PhD Fellowship!

Jaydev Singh Rao
PhD student, KU Leuven, 2024-2028
Jaydev joined the group after a Master of Advanced Study in Physics from the University of Cambridge (Churchill College) and a research internship at the University of Augsburg. Before, he did undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal. Jaydev is interested in quantum simulation and advanced computational techniques.

Yiqian Wu
Summer intern, Oxford, 2024
Yiqian is a MPhysPhil undergraduate student at the University of Oxford (Balliol College). In her project, she has been working on the fate of false vacuum bubbles in synthetic two-dimensional quantum magnets.
