Alessio Lerose
I am an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at KU Leuven (Belgium).
I am broadly interested in quantum many-body dynamics, from the phenomenon of thermalization to non-thermal behavior of matter. My activities span fundamental theory questions on universality out of equilibrium, the development of computational techniques, the design of quantum simulation strategies.
My research borrows ideas and tools from statistical mechanics, dynamical systems, quantum field theory, and quantum information theory.
After my undergraduate studies at the University of Milan (Italy) and my PhD in Statistical Physics at SISSA Trieste (Italy), I moved to a postdoctoral position at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and hence to a Leverhulme-Peierls Fellowship at the University of Oxford and Wadham College (UK), before landing at KU Leuven (Belgium) as a Research Professor (BOFZAP).
